Little minds (and let's face it, big minds) can easily become overwhelmed by complexity and overstimulation. The remedy for this… SIMPLICITY!

Keeping play simple through the use of everyday items as play tools and exposing children to just a few, open-ended and engaging play items at a time allows them to engage more deeply with them. This in turn has numerous benefits such as increasing focus, independence and encouraging brain development.
The same can also be said for children when it comes to learning. By keeping tasks simple and focusing on one concept at a time, we can encourage deep learning and retention as opposed to trying to cover too much and causing overwhelm and superficial learning that is not retained.
Simplicity in play and learning sets children up for simplicity in life and this philosophy is at the core of what I do at Absolutely 4 Kids.
