Welcome to the Absolutely 4 Kids Blog - for all things tutoring, play & learning.

Hi there and welcome,

Since I am new to the blogging world, I wanted to take the time to introduce myself a little and share why I decided to start this blog.

Who am I?

Early childhood teacher and tutor with son.

My name is Kirstin and I am the face behind Absolutely 4 Kids. I am also an experienced Primary School Teacher trained in Early Childhood, a wife and a mum to this little boy named Harlow. Our little sunshine boy is a big part of the inspiration behind Absolutely 4 Kids. I love being able to work in my business, while caring for him simultaneously.

How did I get here?

Before we decided to start a family, I had been teaching in the classroom for many years, and I absolutely loved it. Seeing children learn something new for the first time, or finally understanding something tricky they've been working on is incredibly rewarding, and I loved getting to know and work with children of all different abilities.

However, as much as I loved being in the classroom and developing a family atmosphere with my 'kids', when we welcomed Harlow into our lives I felt heading back to school wasn't what was best for us.

Instead, I decided to combine my experience and love for teaching, my passion for play based learning and my new role as a parent to launch Absolutely 4 Kids late in 2022. I have found so much joy working in my business so far. I really enjoy being able to provide support both for my tutoring students and their families, as well as for new parents and their young children through my play classes.

What next?

I can't wait to share more with you through this play and learning focused blog, and hope that I can provide support to ensure your journey as your child's first teacher is an enjoyable, rewarding one. Be sure to check back regularly as I plan to share plenty of handy tips as well as activity suggestions to support your child's play and learning. I'd also love to hear from you, so pop a comment below and share about your journey with play and learning.
